The present invention discloses a system for real-time heat index and air quality monitoring of tropical cities. The system comprises a weather station assembly, a data logger, a processing engine, a cloud server and a central server. The weather station assembly comprises a plurality of sensors selected from a group comprising a temperature sensor, a relative humidity sensor, an air pressure sensor, a wind speed sensor, a wind direction sensor, a rainfall sensor, a solar radiation sensor, an ultraviolet light sensor, a carbon dioxide sensor, an atmospheric particulate matter sensor, a sulfur dioxide sensor, a nitrogen dioxide sensor, a carbon monoxide sensor and an ozone sensor.
