A Novel Beta-Glucan-Rich Polysaccharide Formulation with Anti-diabetic and Anti-obesity Effects from Pleurotus Sajor-Caju

The present invention provides a formulation for use as a medicament for treating obesity and diabetes mellitus. The said formulation consists of a combination of Beta-glucan and Alpha-glucan polysaccharide obtained from Pleurotus Sajor-caju with 75 to 85% by weight of Beta-glucan polysaccharide and 1 to 10% by weight of Alpha- glucan polysaccharide. The said formulation can serve as a potential antidiabetic and antiobesity agent.
