The method according to the present invention comprising the steps of cloning, overexpression and purification of a recombinant lectin. The produced recombinant lectin is the lectin protein found in the high-molecular-weight fraction of Lignosus rhinocerus extract which demonstrates 10 high selectivity for cancer breast cells and not cytotoxic to normal breast cells
