A system and method for retrieving data are disclosed. The method comprises receiving an input query from a user , extracting at least one sentence from the received query, analyzing each sentence to identify at least one relevant term of interest in each sentence, assigning a weightage to the identified term, conducting a search in at least one data source based on at least one weighted relevant term of interest, and outputting search results .
