System for Mitigating the Effects of Tsunami and Other Wave Forces on Coastal Structures

The present invention relates to a system for mitigating the effects of coastal waves or tsunami forces on bridges. Accordingly, the system includes: a) at least one baffle plate securely mounted along side surfaces of a bridge deck and/or securely surrounded on a pier of the bridge; wherein the baffle plate has a top side and a bottom side being joined in a predetermined acute angle.
