More particularly, the present invention relates to an isolated nucleotide sequence or complement thereof representing lanb gene for production of an enzyme in a lantibiotic biosynthetic pathway, a nucleic acid therefor, an enzyme, a vector and a host cell encoded by the gene thereof.
