Ceramic oxide coating and method of making the same

The present invention discloses a method of forming a thermal and corrosive barrier coating on an article subjected to a hostile thermal and corrosive environment, such as carbon steel pipes for oil and gas application. The barrier coating is generally comprised of a thermal and corrosive resistant aluminium titanate (Al2O3 – TiO2) ceramic coating that is deposited and adheres to the surface of a carbon steel (Fe- Ni-Co).
