Method For Preparing 2-imidazolones

TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW

The present invention provides a method of preparation of 2-imidazolones by generating superoxide ion in an imidazolium-based ionic liquid and reacting the generated o2"- with the imidazolium cation present in the ionic liquid. This method allows for obtaining the 2-imidazolones in good yield and purity.
